There are a certain group of people who absolutely should not take a GLP-1 medication. These currently include anyone who has had a history of thyroid cancers or has a family history of thyroid cancers, specifically a type of thyroid cancer known as medullary thyroid cancer. Also, if you have a history of a condition called pancreatitis or have any gastrointestinal disorders, you're advised not to go on GLP-1 agonists.
