With a 24 hour blood pressure monitor you can and should carry on with your daily active disease as normal. There are some obvious precautions you need to take so we would ask you to shower or wash before having the 24 hour blood pressure monitor on because it's not going to be practical to do that during the monitoring period. We'd ask you to refrain from vigorous exercise because that will interfere with the monitor.
The monitor may, the cuff may fall off or the monitor may record artifactually elevated or depressed blood pressure. So it's not really designed to be done on the day that you're looking to exercise vigorously. Finally at night the monitor is set to go off every hour instead of every half hour.
That may disturb your sleep a little bit. We accept that and we'll take that into account when we interpret your blood pressure readings.
