There's many different reasons why you might be struggling to meet your goals from a psychological perspective. Some of the things I more commonly see tend to be when people are stressed. You might make really bad choices.
It's much easier to grab the sugary option than it is the nutritious option because we're running around, we're time poor. Similarly, if you're struggling with sleep and we're tired, we just want something to pick us up rather than going for something that's good for us. Your reasons will be very specific to you.
Your motivations, your personal history, your relationship with food will be very specific to you. And when you come and see me, what we'll think about are those things that are specific to you, helping understand you and what's going to help you meet your goals and aspirations.
