In order to lose weight, there's a number of things you need to consider and calorie balance and energy balance is a key part of that. But if we sort of label food groups as bad in that sort of sense, it's not such a good idea to cut out an entire food group. It's better to eat a variety, all different foods and have a little bit of what you fancy as well, but also bearing in mind that you do need a deficit in order to burn stored calories from fat.
