With a bicuspid aortic valve, eventually you will require surgery. Surgery will be an open heart procedure to replace the aortic valve. Now this can happen at a variety of times.

In some people it will be in their 20s, in some people it will be in their 50s or 60s. What governs how quickly you need surgery is your symptoms and the findings from these annual echocardiograms that we perform for you.
