You can reduce your risk of developing a general heart condition by actually just using simple common sense strategies in day-to-day living. So looking after yourself, critically eating well, exercising regularly, not smoking, are simple things that we can do and should do. If you want to look further, if you have a, for example, a family history of heart problems, simple diagnostics such as blood tests and ECG and scans of the heart will also inform us what your overall risk is currently and potentially what your future risk of cardiovascular problems is.
