If you're experiencing heart symptoms, stopping drinking can only help, however, it's not all together mandatory. The correct amount of alcohol to drink is actually none, there is no beneficial effect of drinking alcohol. However, we all know, we all accept that alcohol is part of our social culture.

We also accept that a moderate amount of alcohol won't cause harms, but regardless of that, if you are getting symptoms and alcohol makes it worse, then obviously the sensible thing to do is to stop drinking.
